What happened to Spoked
Spoked was a UK-based AI cycling coaching app, mobile-first and cheap: GBP 3.99 a month on Base and GBP 9.99 on Pro, with a 30-day Pro trial. It ran for years, with riders on it since 2017, and its model was a simple post-ride check-in: you reported effort, sleep and freshness, and the plan moved.
It shut down in the summer of 2026. The last app release was on 5 June 2026, the website stopped serving shortly after, and the iOS listing has been taken down. The shutdown date reported at the time was 1 July 2026. Riders were offered three months of icTrainer as a parting gift.
That gift is worth understanding before you act on it. icTrainer controls a smart trainer indoors. It is not a coach, and it does not do the thing Spoked did: write your plan and change it when your week changes. If you took the offer and felt something was missing, that is why.
Your training history
Better news than most shutdowns. Spoked read your rides from Garmin, Wahoo and Strava rather than storing them only on its own servers, so the rides themselves are still in those accounts and any new platform can import them.
What you lose is the layer Spoked built on top: your plan, your readiness history and the feedback you logged after each session. That does not come back, and no platform can recover it for you.
What actually replaces it
Spoked served riders who wanted real coaching without coach prices. That is a specific need, and the honest answer is that nothing replaces it at GBP 9.99.
If you want the plan written and updated for you, that is coaching software, and it costs more than Spoked did. Cycling Coach AI is $12.50 a month billed annually. It builds the plan and rewrites it after every ride you record, reads from Strava, intervals.icu, Garmin and Wahoo, and sends workouts to Garmin, Wahoo, Zwift, Hammerhead and Rouvy.
If you only want to see your numbers, intervals.icu is free and covers fitness, fatigue, form and your power curve. It will not tell you what to ride.
If you want a human coach to run your training on a platform, that is TrainingPeaks plus the coach's fee. It is the most expensive route and the most personal.
And if you just want to ride indoors, icTrainer or Zwift do that well. Keep the free months; just do not expect a plan out of them.
